Elk Meadow Cabins was more than we expected. The cabins were great, staff extremely friendly, and they strive to make us feel comfortable and safe during these trying times of a pandemic. They also took out the worry of using an EV vehicle considering the last Supercharger is in Eureka. And they let us charge our Tesla Model 3! The cabins are also solar powered! We though that was pretty cool. Oh yeah and don’t forget the elk casually grazing around you! It really was quite the experience.

Perfectly situated inside the Prairie Creek state park, these cabins offer comfortable accommodations and relaxation in the area where lodging mostly comes in the form of camping. The cabin we stayed in was the smallest but still had a small kitchen/ dining area, bathroom with a shower, 2 bedrooms and a living room. There is a gas grill with a burner on the outside porch. There is also a microwave, little fridge, and a drip coffeemaker. The kitchen is supplied with dishes and all utensils you need. There is even a water filter! The cabin is well taken care of. And did I mention Roosevelt elk in the backyard?
This cabin was such a pleasant surprise after driving through Orick I was worried that I had picked a place that was going to be a little different that shown. But it was so perfect! Beautifully decorated, fully furnished, totally comfortable. The elk wondering and playing around the cabin was a bonus! The trail and creek behind the cabins is not to be missed. I wanted to stay longer! This a nice central location for seeing the Redwoods. Note: be sure to bring or buy groceries etc in a bigger town. Orick has nothing and the closest is 17 miles away.
Great cabins (more like home with many amenities) that are clean and located near many wonderful trails. We stayed for 5 nights and saw plenty of elk visiting on 3 of the days. Nice fire pit for use as well (they provide everything you need to build your own fire). Hot tub is closed during Covid. Wifi is slow but stable enough to support multiple zoom meetings.
We were there to see the elks. the place delivered in spades. We woke up with elks eating grass a few feet away from the window. A whole herd slowly grazed across the yard and stayed on the meadow across from the driveway. We saw a bunch of 8 points. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. We were very satisfied with the stay.
Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Justin was the best too. I will always recommend this place and will stay there if I ever go back to that area.
Had a vacancy sign but no way to check in at 11pm. Sad...
we stayed at elk meadow cabins for 2 nights at redwood national park. the cabins are located in the national park in a great location. the cabins were perfect, full kitchen, 2 bath and 3 bedrooms. we forgot sandwich bags, but there were some in the kitchen. it is the cleanest place we have ever stayed. we had a great time exploring the park, a fire the first night and we woke up to 60 elk in the back and front yard our second day. there were elk within 15 feet of the cabin. great stay. on our first full day, we took a guided tour from redwood adventures. we signed up for a 3 hour tour and extended to a full day tour. it was fun, an easy walk, very informative and we saw things we would not have found on our own. Justin was the perfect tour guide. he is hard to describe, but he is very knowledgeable in the forest (tree nerd according to him), very entertaining and really enthusiastic. we had a great time.
