I have always enjoyed Moy's until last night. The food was as good as usual. The issue was the bill not matching the prices on the menu. Come to find out they added a (what they said) was a 5% upcharge. They did not tell us nor did they have it posted that they would be changing 5% on top. We thought maybe they added tax to it but nope they added tax on top of the 5%. What they are doing is illegal. Will not go back under this owner ever again. They have ruined this once great restaurant with their business practices. After complaining they did take some off the bill but should never have happened in the 1st place. Many orders came in and yet not many people were noticing the price difference.
The food has always been excellent, but the prices have been steadily rising over the last year or so. The last time I was there with friends, we noticed a discrepancy on our bill. The prices were not the same as what was on the menu. When we asked about it, we were told that they started adding a 5% surcharge to every ticket wether it was fine in or carry out. It wasn't listed as a line addition, it was rolled into the food prices. No one would notice if they didn't look closely. It was not posted, nor were they telling their customers- which is against the law. They are permitted to add the surcharge ONLY if they post it in visible area to customers and the customers are aware. After a loud complaint, with several other customers listening, it was removed from our bill. There actions are deceptive and unethically. We will not be going back to this restaurant.
Moys was wonderful as usual. For as long as I can remember the food has always been great. It's my place for Chinese food.
I ordered a chicken lo mein no vegetables and I came as burnt noodle pile withered the slimmest unseasoned chicken iv even seen. This was along with another order I had that was prepared with the wrong Ingredients. I have often had gone to moys so when I called trying to explain the situation I was told it was the policy for me to come all the way back to the store tonight to fix it and if I didn't drive back to the store they would not do anything. I pick this slimeball of a mess they called my order up on my way out of town and I'm not driving and hour and half for more Chinese food tonight. Be careful buying here if you don't live close, because when they put garbage instead of food you'll be out of luck or looking at a nice long drive. Obviously this place had lost a customer.
