State of Maryland District Court and Multi-Service Center is located in the downtown area nearby the cemetery and baseball fields in Cecil County. And Department of Social Services is on the second floor in this building. Free parking is available in the back of the building (first come first served). Before entering the building, know this: No pets. No foods and beverages. And no firearms. Period. Mobile devices are permitted, but they are subject to a security inspection.

I went into the office ready to cry, I never thought I would need to apply for these services. Sign in was quick & efficient, & in 2 hours I left with approvals for Medicaid and Food Stamps. Not sure how much I'll get in food stamps, but I've learned to cook at home again and frankly at this point anything will help. Everyone (I interacted with 3 people) was friendly, helpful & reassuring. I didn't have to wait long, & all of my questions were answered. Maybe it was because it was a beautiful Spring day in February, & we'd just had the polar vortex the week before. I'm sorry that no one else got the assistance they need, but I walked in crying inside & left reassured. No, my problems are not solved, but I am at least hopeful now.

The old men that work in the back at the metal detector need a course in manners. VERY RUDE. They think they are comedians, I suppose.
