This is one of the rare Czech places still left in the Chicago area. They have survived many years by doing what they know best at accomplishing - cooking some of the finest tasting ethnic dishes that will reach your tongue. I ordered a traditional dish they call pork, dumpling and sauerkraut. The pork is about 1 inch thick and very tender. I ordered the large dish so I got three pieces. The pork is flavorful and tasty with a hint of garlic. The dumplings are traditional bread dumplings. Basically it's made with bread, flour, egg and salt. The sauerkraut is a pleasant mix of sweet and sour taste. Sauerkraut, made naturally, is marinated cabbage and as such will be naturally on the sour side. Some restaurants add sugar to give a sweet taste. I received a complementary bowl of soul - beef with dumplings. Yes it was tasty. The salad was full of fresh goodness with a house dressing that had a taste of honey or some other natural sweating agent. It's a tad far to travel if you live in Chicago but we'll worth the drive. The best place to get food in Villa Park. Where else can you get fresh bread for free? Coming here has always been an experience. Whether I'm spending some time at the very lively bar during a game, or having a dinner in the restaurant I always leaving happier than I arrive. The menu has so many delicious options that trying and picking a new item to eat, I've never felt like I could have ordered something I knew I like, or compromise. The staff is uniquely friendly and really get to know you. My recent dining experience has been during a mild snow storm early evening with my loved one. We sat next to a roaring fire overlooking a beautiful terrace covered in snow. The best part was it felt like a TRULY great meal not just because my roast duck dripped with a uniquely complex glaze with a touch of sweetness, or the fresh hot fries covered in cheese and served with a spicy aioli, or even the stunning desserts lit aflame made of fresh cream and rich Brandy. This meal was great, because I knew that the food was amazing. Its amazing when I can just go somewhere now a days, where anything can happen. My car could break down, I could get really bad news about a family member, or just an off day. I could be in the worst mood possible and I wouldn't want to talk to anyone. But I'll always come here and eat. Because I can know without a doubt in my mind, that I'll always have a meal I'll love. I'll always smile at the people who work there and treat you like family. I'll never feel bad when I get the bill and I can focus on the things that matter. It's one less thing to worry about and I'll always love coming here.

Fantastic Salmon, Steak was fabulous and the Burgers are barn none the best we have had in a long time.
My favorite place to grab a fast lunch. Food quality is good and prices are unbeatable.
