My husband and I live in Palmer, AK. Yet, I contacted Eric Derleth in Soldotna in 2019 about an extremely varied and complex legal issue that, if he took the case, would put him in contention with two top-rated legal firms in Anchorage. It was not the type of case Eric usually handled as it involved medical malpractice, abandonment of care, HIPPA violations, attorney misconduct. Thankfully, Eric took my case, when many attorneys had already refused. Eric tackled my case directly with constant progress and with legal finesse. He was able to illicit the information I needed “in black-and-white” to move my case to the next level — Federal. Eric is personable, easy to work with, doesn’t get belligerent or demeaning as most attorneys, and is always accessible. I learned a lot from Eric during the time he worked on my case. I can now handle many of the issues that come in everyday life up and get great results. Recently, a family emergency came up, and I called on Eric to look over a will I wrote out. Eric made suggestions and did not charge me. He said, if I wanted, I could make a donation to our food bank or buy my cats a toy. What other attorney would do that? Because this would not be profitable case for Eric, we elected to bill hourly yet Eric was always sensitive to my bill. I personally know he wrote off a lot of the bill and he offered to write off 1/2 of the final billing but I would not allow that. He’d written off enough. You could not ask for an attorney who knows more about the law, who’d work harder and smarter for you. My husband and I feel we gained a knowledgeable attorney and a good friend. You cannot usually say that about attorneys. Also, in speaking with other attorneys, Eric is well-respected by any attorney I have spoken with. This is always a plus.
I reach out to Mr. Eric Derleth about some legal matters concerning my gun rights, I explain to him about my situation and he was willing to help and gave me some insights on were I stand, he was very honest about the situation which I really appreciated. we came to the conclusion he might not be able to help me out, but if I wanted to go thru with his services he would do his best. he was honest about everything, the information he gave was straight to the point. he could have taken my money but we came to the conclusion it might be best and to wait, I've never met him and found him on the internet. the comunication we had back and forth thru email was awesome and responded quickly, if things change in the future where I should need some help I'll be calling him. thanks for your honesty and insight about my situation.Definitely would recommend him.

I unfortunately had the need to hire a lawyer. Fortunately for me though, Eric was there to introduce himself and offer up his services. Words cannot express how incredible it was to watch Mr. Derleth in court. He is well spoken, well versed in law, and overall his professional manner and ability to take command in the court room was astonishing to say the least. To top it off, Eric is also a fairly upstanding guy. He is friendly, courteous, and willing to work with you as a client. I would recommend Eric Derleth to anyone in need of an attorney.
