Hiked on Saturday 09/26/20. It was a free entry day into the park so we expected it to be crowded. We arrived at 6am and the parking lot was full, so we took the shuttle to the trailhead. The trail really wasn't that full, we saw people every few minutes but it was by no means crowded. We were on the trail no later than 730am and when we were heading back out (approx 11:00am) the traffic did start to pick up significantly. Really loved this hike. The path is very well kept and lots of great scenery along the way. Once you get to the waterfall climb that leads you to the Lake of Glass/Sky Pond, it does get more difficult. Lake of Glass was EXTREMELY windy (I could barely hold my phone in my hand to take a photo). We clocked a total of 8.65 miles, taking 4hrs.

Worth the hike and short rock climb! Absolutely beautiful!!
We went on the 1st of April and there was a lot of snow on the trail to get here. It was also incredibly windy up at the top. It is certainly not a hike for the faint of heart during the winter. The views were definitely worth it though! What a cool experience.
Getting to the Lake of Glass entails a very fun and challenging hike. Sky Pond is the typical end destination for most hikers, but Lake of Glass is very cool in its own right. You can get some great views from elevated viewpoints on the back side of the lake.
Outstanding view .
