Everyone knows that I'm a big history buff. I love our history because it has a way of making you feel connected and even grateful for the many blessings we have in our lives. The Etowah Indian mounds Historical Site is just the place to do that. Once you go there and you see the mounds and how massive they are you'll be awed at the power and strength of such primitive people. These people lived in this area for 600 years.Such a cool fact. The site also has a little museum where they display relics from the Indian Mounds nearby. And a gift shop! So if you're ever on an adventure into the past then take a stop here. You'll love it. I did!

Awesome glimpse into the precolonial past and what existed before there was a “Georgia”. Tranquil and nicely kept. It’s very easy to imagine the inhabitants who’ve come before. Especially by the riverside, you can almost see the activities they performed centuries ago on the same riverbank you stand on. Wonderful place.
Cool little place to learn about the natives to this part of Georgia. Has 3 mounds you can walk up steps to the top. Nothing strenuous. Has a cool little museum with artifacts and a small gift shop.
Mandatory place to visit to understand the history and culture of native americans. The museum is very informative and the video show is a must watch.
Fascinating place! Very informative and such a beautiful scenery! You can walk around the mounds, Etowah river bank is peaceful and you can learn about herbs and tree parts used as medicine by the Cherokee as well. We have seen otters playing in the river! Don't miss the museum, they have lots or artefacts and also models of how the city really looked like. When you arrive, the best thing to do is go straight to the museum and pay 6 which is museum entrance with parking fee combined. Staff is very helpful!
