Rode it when I was 12. Didn't do much other than slam my face into the restraints. I'm sure if I rode it now it wouldn't be so bad but it vibrates so hard it would also probably screw my back.

Believe it or not! If you ride this in the morning when the park opens its definitely way smoother than when you ride it in the afternoon, because of the seats get really hot in the afternoon in the summer. So if you go to the park when it first opens in the summer go on the boss FIRST! The Boss used to be one of the longest wooden in North America until the painful 570 degree turn was removed in 2018.
It's big, fast, intense, and yes a little rough. It's a great ride though, it has good length and great laterals. The airtime is amazing in the back, but the front is smoother. Highly recommend it for the intensity alone. Honestly though, the roughness was funny, not painful. So have an open mind and remember its a roller coaster, just have a bit of fun. The park's other woodie is good, but a bit tamer. However if you cannot stand a little intensity then I'd go on the general public magnet Gerstlauer Spinning coaster in the middle of the park.
Super fun
Impressive but that's it. It is a bit like the woodie Anaconda in France. They look huge and impressive but offer little sensations except unbearable vibrations.
Love the BOSS! It is the BOSS! Don't listen to the cowardice from people who call it "rough". I rode this ride when i was 6 and cried. I ride it all the time now and love it! The difference? Don't rest your back on the car. It's not hard. If you ride it smartly, it's roughness is equivalent to the Screaming Eagle which is an adored classic. High speeds, banked turns, and most fun at night!
Definitely the best ride in the park! Packed with airtime hills and tight turns, and the drops are huge for a wooden roller coaster!
To everyone whining about it being rough, it's a wooden coaster. All wooden coasters are rough. Also, it's slower now than it used to be because they took out the double helix at the end which was my favorite part. As for the lines, you all either didn't come here years ago when all the lines were 2 hours or you're too young. You are so impatient. I remember standing in line on multiple occasions for over 2 hours to ride things like Scooby Doo, Batman, Mr. Freeze, Evel Knievel, and yes, the Boss.
