Choices is under new management. They are more engaging now and seam to be more organized then from when I first started the process.i was seriously having doubts about my treatment plan and choosing choices. Like yeah its not the greatest places to be and no one wanta to be there but the Counselor and the staff make it worth it to have to be there. In the end it was worth it

I recently purchased Choices Assessment and Recovery. I am grateful to the current staff for their compassion and willingness to go above and beyond for clients. Please give yourself a chance to recover with people who really care.

Had an assessment done here for a DUI. This industry has a reputation for taking advantage of people that have no choice but to pay for their services after the court has ordered it, and Choices is no exception. Unfortunately, I went here as they were the only local recovery center that would fit with my schedule. I knew the kind of place I was at when they had me fill out the intake paperwork for treatment and took all of my insurance information (not needed for assessment as insurance doesn't cover the assessment) before they even started assessing me for treatment. I live an active life that has no place in it for mind altering substances. I do too many activities to be hung over or to not be of sound mind. I was going through a divorce, and when enough people asked me to “go grab a beer and talk”, I eventually caved, made poor choices, and ended up with a DUI. The court proceedings lasted for 2 ½ years due to complications that I won't go into here. Because of the amount of time that had passed, I was unsure of my arrest date when asked during the assessment. I was open about that fact and said that it was around such and such date. The date I gave turned out to be 4 months off. This fact was brought up 4 separate times in the assessment results, which state that I am required to attend 8-10 months of treatment costing me time and money into the thousands of dollars. This, because I have a bad memory. The counselor's exact words when questioned were, “many alcoholics have bad memories”. Well, so does a guy that has literally drank 3 times in the last 14 years and is desperately trying to get past one of life's poor choices.. When I stated that this seemed like a money grab, her exact words, “everyone thinks that”. I say that if everyone thinks something, then there might be a problem. Anyway, I'm sure there are fair recovery centers out there, but Choices Assessments and Recovery is no such place. I hope this helps someone.
