Bonnie Thomas
I want to share my grateful personal experience with the Evergreen Park Fire Department, which l now call My EPFD family...they were Earth Angels!
I was shopping in EP Sam's Club Tues, May 5, 2020, early evening. I suddenly felt unsteady and flushed, but was blessed to find an area where l could safely sit.
The Sam's Club staff were quite responsive, concerned, and attentive.
I insisted l was better, and wanted to leave, but they would not allow it until EPFD arrived. It was an excellent, appropriate decision on their part, as l was worse than l realized.
Two members of the EPFD Team arrived. I was so visibly upset, embarrassed, distraught, with the commotion l caused. They both were friendly, professional, performed outstanding assessment and monitoring skills. But, MOST OF ALL...
they were comfortably reassuring and KIND.
They would not leave me, until they assessed and determined that l was stabilized. We gathered enough info to assess/establish what happened.
I KNOW that they told me their names, but l just couldn't recall. And l KNOW that
they were smiling, even though they wore masks. I knew by their gestures, their words...but MOSTLY, their EYES...
When they left, they wished me well, and waved. They determined that l had sufficiently recovered, and was now cleared to \leave\ the building
These are very challenging times for ALL of now...Yet STILL, there are Earth Angels that Walk amongst us...you KNOW who you are
Thank you, Sam's Club Staff, Manager, and EPFD, for the exemplary care l
received

(l also called the EPFD today, May 6th, and spoke with a very personable
Staff member, who reassured me that she would make sure my call would be
relayed to the appropriate care team that helped me)
