I was extremely impressed with the wonderful way the staff makes sure customers are safe by making all wear masks. Two customers came in when I was making a yarn purchase and the staff supplied masks because they didn’t have them. The staff was so great in making me feel comfortable. Also they have a great selection of yarn.

Lovely shop, small in a good way (cozy!) And there is nothing but the very best yarns, supplies, and most of all, excellent customer care. I used to work as a custom knitter & finisher, and am well-acquainted with many LYS's, as well as their staff. This is one of the best in the Twin Cities area, plus the ambiance of Excelsior makes the short but beautiful drive well worth your time.

Great selection and typically a very friendly staff. I have experienced some of the same issues with condescension as another reviewer but not anything to the extent that it has kept me away. I too get gift certificates for birthdays and Christmas so I am only in the store a few times throughout the year using them. But this is a very nice store and there is inspiration all around when you walk in. A must-visit if you are in Excelsior, just to see all the beautiful yarns in one place.

These ladies know their stuff...their knowledge of all things yarn and knitting is vast. They have a beautiful collection of yarn, tools, and patterns.

I have shopped at Lakeside yarn for many years, My sweet husband gave me a gift card to this store for Christmas. I went in today and the sales women/maybe owner was by far the rudest, patronizing person I've ever experienced. I asked about any knitted patterns she was aware of to make a summer sweater. They have many made up garments in the store, She looked at me and said in a high patronizing voice "have you ever HEARDof Ravelry?" Of course I have. Usually the employees are more then happy to assist. She showed me a cardigan, I asked if she knew of any pullovers, she again looked at me with her high pitched patronizing voice and said, "do you know HOW to use the filters on Ravelry"? That was enough and I walked out. The sad part is I have a gift card, the last place I want to buy yarn is from this store.
