I have been kayaking/rafting rivers of the West for over 30 years. Recently returned from a trip on the Hula Hula river in the Brooks Range. Our group of 6 rented two boats and associated river/camping gear from Garrett at Arctic River Guides as we were based out of Oregon. Garrett was instrumental in providing top quality gear and outfitted our group like a pro. Beyond the gear, his experience in logistics and trip planning was an asset that significantly enhanced our trip, saved us cash and left me with a new career goal to be a raft guide in the Arctic. Garrett provided us with great advice and top of the line equipment for our 9-10 day float trip. He was very accommodating even when we came back a day late. I highly recommend ARG and will be using them again on my next trip.
On a family trip of the Fortymile River in Alaska and Canada, I needed a boat for my river-savvy brother-in-law from Colorado. Garrett fixed us up with a 14- foot raft that was spotless, in excellent condition and had all the related gear that was also perfect. We were in a deadline situation as another rental opportunity fell through. Lucky us. Garrett knows Alaska like few others.
A trip to AK is a bunch of crazy details! Nice to work with someone from the area experienced with local logistics. ARG was very helpful navigating our gear needs into remote areas from the lower 48.
We had an excellent experience renting equipment from Arctic River Guides for our trip down the Alatna River. Garrett responded to our emails and calls in a timely manner and shipped, delivered, received, and billed our equipment as discussed. He also went out of his way to help us organize and ship a some items from REI. We will definitely use ARG again!
