Fantastic place to send your child!

This church has a new pastor and a new energy. Nice mix of new young families and older long time members. There is a good size presence of military families, so it is not uncommon to see a salute and recognition of our current and former veterans. If you haven't visited or visited more than a month ago, I suggest you stop by for a service.

As a prior student many years ago, I agree with a previous reviewer. This church/school has left me with some serious scars. Until I became an adult, I didn’t realize the extent of emotional bullying and brainwashing that goes on here. I’m sure my parents thought in the beginning that they were doing the right thing by taking my sister and I out of public schools. What they didn’t know was that FBTA was not an accredited school, therefore the only college I could get into was a religious collage (like Bob Jones) or a community college. I was treated horribly by the staff and students because I was not a member of the church. But what I realize now is that this church (the Calverts) hid behind their religion and intimidated members into emptying their pockets and their brains into the offering plates every Sunday. Young people are manipulated and taught that if you are not a member of FBT or another Independent Fundamentalist Baptist Church you will go straight to hell when you die. What a horrible thing to teach a child, that all your neighbors, friends and family are on a straight path to eternal hell. Not to mention the unhealthy 6 inch rule that turns young people with normal feelings into monsters of the devil. Be prepared to send your children to therapy for the rest of their lives if you subject them to this cult!!

The church and the academy are incredible! They provide a spiritual, edifying environment for both children and adults. You can know that God is working and you are welcome!

My oldest child has been at FBTA since kindergarten and he is in 4th grade now. We love the high academic and spiritual standards of this school. The teachers are so personal and approachable. They truly care about each student in the school, pray for them and their family. We recently started visiting the church and love how God uses pastor Calvert and the leaders of the church in each ministry (children, teens, women and men, singles, missions and other). They have all been very supportive with me and my family. I'm very blessed for this church!

I Love This Church These Are The Most Caring Human Beings. I Walked Into The Church For The First Time 4 Years ago . I Was Dressed Like A Homeless Person. But I Was Accepted As A Family Member. I Was At The Bottom And This Church Prayed And Prayed And God Helped Me. And So Did The Church. When I Was Homeless And Gave Up On Life They Helped Get Back On My Feet. They Never Gave Up. They Never Left Me. God and The Church Were Always By My Side . And Nothing Is Impossible. A Kid Raised In The Streets Drugs/Gangs/Violence Changed Because Of God. This Church Never Threw Me Out Because Of My Past Or How I Looked Instead They Took Me In And Showed Me Love And Kindness. I Love Fairfax Baptist Temple

Our children have been attending this school for many years, and we have been very pleased with the academy's high academic standards and extra-curricular activities, including sports, full-scale dramas, and regional and national competitions. There is a strong emphasis on teaching the students how to be leaders and use their talents and abilities to make a difference in the world around them, using the Bible as the basis for morality and discerning between right and wrong. Academics are strong (uses a mix of A Beka, BJU Press, Saxon, and some others) Very, very happy our kids are getting a good, solid, Christian education -- not only academically, but also spiritually.
