Scott has been teaching my 10 year old son for almost a year now and we are very happy with his progress. I am really grateful for the individualized attention that Scott has for my child, the patience and professionalism. Also Scott makes his lessons fun and engaging which has kept my son motivated to continue practicing and improving. I highly recommend him as a fantastic guitar teacher!

I’ve been taking lessons with Scot (Fairfax Guitar) for 5 months now. Scot is super chill and patient. He takes the time to make sure you understand the lesson and learn the basics you need to move ahead. I especially appreciate how he takes the time to answer any any questions you may have. You'll never feel stressed, rushed or frustrated with Scot, he's pleasant, easy and methodical in his teaching. What I especially love about Scot/ Fairfax Guitar is how he makes himself available via email, phone or text all week if I have questions or problems about anything. Stuck on a chord? Scot answers immediately with an answer and if he feels that he can’t answer it clearly in an email, he’ll make a video of himself to explain it to you. Scot obvious loves guitar and teaching it to people eager to learn it. He is a great teacher with a casual/easy instructing style. I’m thrilled I found him as an instructor and recommend him highly to others wanting to learn or advance in what they already know about guitar.

The best thing about Scot is his enthusiasm for playing. He definitely loves it and takes so much time making sure I'm grasping the material and confident with my progress before we go on to something new. I've surprised myself because the electric guitar (what I play) has always intrigued me but not something I thought I'd ever actually pick up. But with the New Year I finally promised myself to tackle it and I'm so happy I found Scot right here in West Hollywood. I'm making progress with my open chords and currently working on the Pentatonic minor scale. Thanks Scot!!

Scot is an awesome instructor. He is super reliable and consistent. I’m a beginner and Scot has really figured out a way to teach me the basics while making it fun and engaging. Scot's the best! I've been taking lessons from him for several years and it's been a great experience. He's an extremely patient teacher (I get frustrated easily and can be pretty hard on myself, but he just takes it all in stride), and a very talented guitarist! Scot is immensely knowledgeable in music theory and takes the time to explain the science behind how things work while still keeping lessons lighthearted and fun. In addition to working on fundamentals he also encourages students to send in songs that they like, incorporating them into lessons as well. If you want to learn guitar, I highly recommend taking lessons from Scot!

I have been taking guitar lessons from Scot for years. He is very patient, supportive and knowledgeable. I started taking lessons with Scot with no prior experience. Now I’m able to play my favorite songs and create my own. Scot has a dedicated music room that he teaches in. The room is quite, bright and comfortable. I highly recommend him!

Scot is great. Went to him years ago, I barely knew how to play. He was patient, very knowledgeable in his teachings and pushed me to get better and better. Of course it was up to me to practice, but he paved a great road with a million different exercises and ways that were good for me personally to learn. Over all it was a smooth ride, I had a great time taking lessons there, and 4 years later I started my own band, so ...the proof is in the pudding. He is quite funny too and a great guy, so it's a win win. Best to him and future students.
