I rented a property and then read reviews of Long and Foster property management and feared the worst. Luckily, Rhonda has been an excellent property manager. She’s quick to respond to my many emails, and always so professional. Although she works for the property owners I feel she wants the best for everyone. Thanks to her, it’s easier for me to feel at home in my new spot.

As an owner i can say L&F did not nothing to protect me. They did not follow their procedures and then were unable to work on my benefit. Their response is slow or they fail to follow up. I would recommend to a property owner not to use this firm for their property management.

My landlord uses Long & Foster (L&F) Property Management to manage the apartment I rent. My list of grievances with this company is long but in a gist, L&F is non-responsive half of the time and rude the other half of the time. Recently, I tried to add a roommate to my lease, which I'm allowed to do and for which I am charged an exuberant fee of 250 each time. It's been nearly two weeks and I am yet to hear from anyone at L&F on the status of the application my potential new roommate had submitted. Again, this is just one of many issues, I have had with this company. If you're about to rent a property managed by L&F, think twice before you do so. If you're an owner of a property and want your renters to be happy and your property taken care of, steer clear as well.

Having experienced LnF PM from the tenant side, I would never consider using them to purchase a property, or to manage a property I owned. You might as well save yourself the money and manage the property yourself. For the first half of my time as a tenant I had a relatively good experience with the property managers assigned to my property, but after reorganization and consolidation of their property management during the second and third years I was a tenant, I was lucky if I could get a response from anyone. My move out was the worst experience I have ever had as a renter and I had to work with no less than five Realtors and LnF employees who were unresponsive. Extremely unprofessional. I would never recommend using this company for any reason to anyone. I was instructed that I must present my keys in person to the team after moving out and was not provided an option for a walk through. I was also provided the notice of my deposit return and deductions after the 45-day period required. I even had to enlist the help of the owner's listing agent to get a response from the Realtors assigned to PM. Then I had to claw back my deposit even after providing copies of my move-in inspection report and photographs showing damages reported during my move (which they did not keep their own copies/record of). I'm not sure what the owner of my unit was paying for because at the end of the day no one at LnF took responsibility for managing the property I rented.
