Do not use them. They never came to pick up my trash...at all. I started service with them in early December and left my bins out for almost 4 weeks with not one pick up - I paid for weekly trash and recycling. I called three separate times and was told they would send someone out immediately. They never came. I canceled my service, and ask for refund on my bill. They refunded me the remaining two months of service but would not refund me the deposit for the container bins nor the month I was supposed to receive service but didn't. The customer service on the phone was friendly, but they did not help me. So I paid for something I did not receive from this company. I called Cardinal Waste because they had good reviews, and sure enough they started picking up my trash within the week.

Unfortunate. We had been using Republic Services for about 7 years when we lived closer to the Beltway. But, recently we moved out to Clifton and they have failed to maintain service and have lost a customer. We are coming up on a month of \service\ and they have yet to pickup on the regularly scheduled Thursday to pick up trash. One time we were able to get them to come out on a missed pickup run, but they missed again the following week and then missed the \missed pickup\ pickup. This can has been sitting by the road full for quite some time and we have run out of space in the can. We are even holding some Christmas wrapping paper and trash from from move in the garage, simply because Republic won't pick up. You'd think a full trash can with their logo on it would be the exact billboard they would want to avoid.
Easily the worst company I have dealt with as a homeowner. We pay for two trash cans to be picked up every week. They consistently skip our house or empty only one trash can. Today I chased them down the street to ask why they did not empty my second trash can. I got two answers: 1. I don't know or 2. We should have taken it. In the past, we have called customer service to have them come back out and empty the cans, but they only followed through on occasion. If you are considering this company for your trash removal I would run as fast as you can. I guess it's my fault for sticking with them so long. Shame on me... We made the change today. Hopefully, our luck will be better with another company.
As 99% of the other reviews in here have noted, this company is AWFUL. Customer for four years. This last 12-14 months have been progressively worse. They continue to cut service, regularly miss pickups and are basically non responsive if it doesn't involve them getting paid. Pro tip for Republic - it's a contract, I PAY for service, you PROVIDE the paid for service. Four weeks and no one has picked up yard waste. It's piling up in front of my house and others. Moving in, had enough. Tired of paying for what I'm not actually getting.
This rating is specifically for Republic Services not picking up bags of leaves because xmas was on Wed. Call #1: Mon, Dec 30th, was told they'd pick up Tue. Call #2: Thu, Jan 2, was told they'd pick up in the afternoon. Call #3: Fri, Jan 3, was told they'd send a note to dispatch to pick up Fri. Call #4: Sat, Jan 4, was told pick up is scheduled for Mon Jan 6. Today is Jan 4 and it's nearly 10 days and counting. Several other neighbors on my street has same issue. Short & simple: I signed a contract for services and I keep my side by paying the fees but Republic is not honoring their side of the contract. And this is not the first time they have not picked up trash on scheduled days. Summer of 2019 was full of missed pickups.
