I did not have on the right foot wear so I did not venture far from the parking lot. I had a little time away from my caregiving responsibilities and just happened upon this park. It was a welcome, serene experience.

Wow, another beautiful trails to hike (bike trails\u003e\u003eblack loop, black diamond loop, old grail loop); it is winding, up/down and with the views at the water. I can call it my home trails from now on. I would grade it higher than the Bull Run-Occoquan Trail (north side of the main parking lot). I hike these trails a few times starting around 8:00AM , and there is just me..very solitary. If you go here, definitely do carry a map because the trails crisscross, and you may go round and round in a maze...but don't worry, you are still in VA :). I get to these bike trails from a horse trail-head located about 500ft from the main road (where the big sign 'Fountainhead Regional Park' is). I tag it as the title says because there is no location named for Fountainhead Bike Trail on Google map

The Bull Run Occoquan Trail is a gorgeous 17-mile multi-use trail that is well-maintained by the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club. Parts of the trail are available for horseback riding and mountain biking, and all parts are open dawn to dusk for hiking. The Fountainhead Regional Park provides easy parking and access to the eastern trailhead.
