Dr Denduluri is extraordinary as an oncologist. She has a high level of competence and is very knowledgeable about upcoming medications and clinical trials. She sits on ASCO and is very well connected with other influential oncologists. She also publishes research which is very unusual for an oncologist out of a research hospital. She is also very collaborative and willing to work with you. I once worked with her in changing the dose of a drug, based on information gleaned at a cancer conference. She is also extremely responsive. I hear many stories from other patients who do not have regular contact with their oncologist and that is definitely not the case with her. Cancer is not easy, but having her on my side makes it all the more manageable. I am very fortunate to have her as my oncologist.

Have been going to the Fairfax VCS location for 2 years now. I’m so glad I chose them to go with for my treatments. Dr. Patel is the best. She always takes the time to answer all my questions patiently and keeps a positive attitude that helps when I’m not feeling great. In general everyone there is great, from the lab techs, receptionists and nurses. Everyone takes the time to remember my name which I appreciate and there’s never a long wait time for my appointments. I can also always get through their nursing hotline on the phone quickly or by email which is important to me as some of my other doctors offices are difficult to reach. Highly recommend this location and practice.

On following up and replying with Suzanne Hope's review below, the whole management perspective of running a hostpital and managing people is completely messed up. The lab and behind the scene technicians are very short staffed (hearing directly, and no wonder why the employees are leaving constantly) and not taken care of. Bad management causes stresses and delays in performances which is cause of lack of care and mainly being short staffed, and yay ignoring about it. If you guys are (I hope not) considering a cost saving through keeping it short staffed, good luck! and your bad investment choice will reveal in the long term. Both the front line doctor/nurses and back end lab technicians deserve credits to serving the customers. Hospital is still a business, then you better do a much better job in managing people. Yes, there are bad and good doctors, and there are bad and good supporting roles, but I'm talking in general majority level for specific Virginia Cancer Specialist centers. The nature of work, is really saving people's lives. Please do a better care on communication, staffing, management, and just over all to outside and inside people around this place.

Went here back in June to get a genetic test done because my mother was diagnosed w breast cancer and was told that her children qualify for a test that would be fully covered by insurance. Three months later I get a bill for the full amount. Called my insurance and they said that VCS should have labeled this test as \preventative\ and they did not. I called VCS multiple times and after about the tenth time, their biller picked up the phone and told me she will look into it. A month later, I still have not heard back and cannot reach them for the life of me. Got another \final\ bill in the mail today. What a nightmare this experience has been. Mind you the only reason I took the damn test is because Dr. Reed said it was fully covered under ACA.

The personnel at Virginia Cancer Specialists have always been friendly and willing to help in whatever ways I have requested. The nursing staff, in particular, has been top notch in my view. The nurse practitioners are thorough and professional, the infusion nurses are knowledgeable and caring, and the research nurses are terrific.
