Really good place to chill. The place wasn't too crowded and the pier offers a really nice view of the whole beach. I liked it! Has many places to eat very closely.

Wear water shoes the rocks out there are sharp. I cut my foot on one of them. Other than that it was a nice clean beach. Pretty packed when we got there and not much social distancing happening. Also it’s 10 to park at the beach.

Depending on what area you go in Riis, you'll have a wonderful time. In these covid times, I can't handle the large groups of people so I went further down the beach where some of the fishermen hang out. Please only swim with the lifeguards present. These waves are no joke and will slap you around. I was a competitive swimmer for 10 years and I got thrashed in those waves. Once again do not play with these waves lol It can get quite windy in the area as well. The beach is clean, the people aren't lol

We came to Riis park beach bazaar on Saturday of Labor Day weekend. It was a gorgeous sunny day and the traffic was not bad at all. We had never been to Far Rockaway beaches and this was a very pleasant surprise. It was not far from the city at all and is connected by buses as well if you are not driving. Beach was amazing and we chilled out enjoying the nice sunny weather. We had wood fire oven pizza which was delicious, enjoyed beers, had a soft serve ice cream, tried Colombian yucca fries and washed it all down with some more drinks. Must visit beach in New York.
