Such a weird experience. Visited this store to gather information and start the order process. Not helpful at all and made me feel defensive and uncomfortable. It's easy to spend alot of money and I feel you might as well feel good about where you spend it. Place smells terrible too.

I had these guys to install a gas log in my home, I thought it was a decent job, however the installer failed to get me a receipt. I have called several times and left messages, These guys need someone to run their office, they must be so busy they can't keep up with customers, and that is SLOPPY business when you can't even e-mail a customer receipt for service!!!!

Extremely disappointed with the quality of their remote controlled products and installation. I would recommend looking elsewhere. They installed a new remote system for me last winter. It stopped working after a handful of uses. I returned to their store this winter and explained what had happened, expecting to pay a fee for them to come take a look. They were not interested. I then gave them an opportunity to price an additional match light system in another fireplace and repair their previously installed remote system (for a fee) and they didn’t like that idea either. They explained that remote systems are not reliable and that I should look elsewhere. I’m hoping this is an isolated incident. This is the first time I’ve had an issue like this with a local business. Very unfortunate.

Was looking for a set of Peterson gas logs and I called up and spoke with the owner and he quoted me a price over the phone. When I went there to look at the logs, he quoted me a higher price than what he quoted over the phone...bait-and-switch. I left and looked online and found them a lot cheaper for the same set (about 100 less). I ordered the logs and received them within several days & it only took me about 20 minutes to install them....only one connection to make. So I saved a total of about 225 as Hearthside Shop also wanted 125 to install them.

RH Peterson logs are no comparison in looks to the box store junk we replaced but we had not expected how these actually reflect the heat so much better. Hearthside's installer arrived as scheduled, respected our home and did professional work. Not only do I recommend this store I will have them back out to replace the ones in our living room. Money well spent.
