I will be honest...I was going with a friend who wanted to learn how to make a stained glass piece. I had told her it was very difficult and I really wasn't interested. She searched the internet for classes and found this unique opportunity to go away for a weekend stay at a B&B that is on the water. Although I was not interested in the stained glass class, I was interested in a getaway that was on the water. As soon as we arrived, we were treated like friends by Barney. She was so energetic and excited to see us. Her golden retriever, Sam, was the sweetest dog. I knew I was going to feel at home. The stained glass class was something I was going to with my friend. It ended up being an experience I will never forget. Barney was not only a hostess who provided farm fresh, home baked foods for breakfast and lunch but also a master of her craft. She allows each guest to create an original piece. She asks for your interest or inspiration and sketches picture that is the start of your masterpiece. She walks you through the multi-step process helping you along the way. I feel that with her help I brought home a masterpiece. This was a very unique experience that I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a wonderful getaway that includes bringing home an original masterpiece.

Barney is a dream to work with. She accommodates the most basic beginner up to allowing creative freedom to a more advanced student. With all the glass, supplies and tools supplied the price is excellent given a completed work of art when you leave. Her studio is well laid out, lunch is provided. Plenty of parking and scheduling an appointment is easy. I plan to return to make my third panel at the end of the month.

Barney is a wonderful teacher. I’ve been going back every year since 2012. The house and lake are just stunning. Very highly recommend.

My husband and I went to the two-day stained glass class and stayed at their Bed & Breakfast (a slight misnomer, since they also serve lunch). It was absolutely amazing! First - the class. We started with learning the basic skills of glass cutting and grinding. Then, while we chose our glass from the amazing number of options, Barney drew the template for our design (which was based completely on our designs and preferences). Then we spent the next day and a half completing a beautiful piece for us to take home. You don't need any previous knowledge or skills. It was a blast. They took wonderful care of us at the B&B too. The food was superb. Homebaked bread. Amazing french toast. We ate too well. And we had a lovely bedroom and beautiful view. If you like to work with your hands, we cannot recommend this highly enough. It was a tremendous experience.
