Headquarters house for the Union during the Battle of Fayetteville in 1863. Original house from the 1850’s prior to the Civil War. Is decorated how it would have been at the time. A lot of great info about the major battles in the area including Battles of Pea Ridge, Prairie Grove, Cane Hill, and Fayetteville. The Battle of Fayetteville happened right in front of the house along Dickson Street and primarily to the East (hills). There are a lot of books about the Civil War in Arkansas on sale in the bookstore. Parking is a little hard to come by, but great small tour and info. Across the street from the Washington County Courthouse. Recommend for any history buff.
