I took 15 bags of pennies that I’ve been saving up since my childhood and I wanted to trade it for gold bars. The security guard wouldn’t let me in because he said I can’t come in with a Foodarama shopping cart. I don’t like this place.

Great to visit to learn about how money is printed
The Federal Reserve Bank in Houston in the Fourth Ward represents culture through the way that it looks to being the place where people in the Dallas-Houston branch put their money. You can find culture at federal banks because by looking at taxes, you can tell what is going on and what the problems are in an area, which shapes a community’s culture. Historically, the Federal Reserve Bank has been a place where people can put there money to feel safe, and the place where people’s taxes go to. The characteristics that make up the Federal Banks culture are the design of the Bank and the taxes that go there. The Federal Reserve Bank’s culture is unique because there are few banks that are as large as it and there are not many banks that the taxes go directly to. The Federal Reserve Bank is an example of a cultural core, because everything that has to do with the culture with taxes is centered around the Federal Reserve Bank.
Attended a school field trip to the Federal Reserve Bank and received a grand tour from James there was nothing less than exceptional! Super informative, super nice, and a once in a lifetime experience which I enjoyed tremendously. Super educational and historical as well. Explained it's function and also showed us around this incredible and beautiful, state of the art facility. I will never forget this tour. Professor Heidi Green is the best Professor ever and this all would not have been made possible without her terrific planning, vision, and thinking outside the box. So glad I attended this, again once in a lifetime. We saw the vault through video and money being counted and received a shredded money souvenir too!! Staff very friendly and welcoming.
The fed and irs is a privately owned entity that profits on stealing your money from taxes and interest rates for the bankers own gain, only for them to lie to you and tell you its being used for "roads" and "schools". Do your research dec 23 1913... Even the governmen is charged interest on the money that the federal reserve prints.
Take a free tour to see who makes your money and how its spent. Its wheelchair accessible, right at the front door. WOW. The security guards are a bit stern but then maybe they have to be. They were helpful to me. As i'm in a wheelchair, its hard for me to go places. So this is just across the BBP, under the Police memorial Bridge, and across at Gillette St. and Allen Pkwy.
James Colunga is a wonderful, professional tour guide and employee of the Federal Reserve Bank-Houston Branch. I am a current professor at Lone Star College-CyFair and he always accommodates my Federal Government students. He takes time to clearly explain the Federal Reserve and to answer all of their questions in-depth. He never rushes a tour and is always so welcoming. Their staff/employees are kind and courteous. It was well worth the trip. My students really like Mr. Colunga.
