We just now finished 12 original tunes for my CD. Pyata coproduced, mixed and mastered the entire project, as well as added incredible percussion. He is like a high-quality Swiss Army knife! There is nothing he can’t fit together and make work...And in the end, it not only sounds tasty and warm, it sounds like it all belongs together. Pyata and Figure 8 Sound It’s definitely the best decision I made about my entire project.

I don't do a lot of reviews but figure8sound is making magic happen. I was referred to figure8sound by a former Nashville session drummer and a local video producer whom had done projects there. After our initial phone conversation I had a good feeling. The deal was sealed after I checked out the studio and met the owner, lead engineer and producer, Pyata Penedo. Pyata has deep technical skills and giant ears. That would be enough reason to hire him. The studio spaces sound great and the equipment is top of the line. It's a comfortable place to get work done. For my project I needed someone to help produce as well as engineer. Pyata has the right touch. His advice is spot-on but not pushy. He can work hard while having fun and being at ease. I have been producing music and videos most of my life. It is rare to find such a complete combination in a music and audio studio and that is why I am making such a strong recommendation. Pyata did the soundmix/master of our film FOLLOWED and we couldn't have chosen a better person/studio to do so. Not only is Pyata a master at his craft, he was professional, friendly, efficient and most importantly, creative! He added elements to our film that propelled it to the next level by never shying away from trying new sounds and techniques. And the results were undoubtedly a huge contribution to our film's success! We were also under a tight deadline and to ensure we'd make it, Pyata worked tirelessly (even going on a 48-hour session without sleep) and delivered just as promised with a smile! I met the owner of Figure 8 Sound, Pyata Penedo a few years ago when he operated the sound board for a show I did at Mississippi Street Pub in Portland, Oregon. When I decided to record my original songs, Pyata was the first person I thought of and I couldn't have made a better decision. Over the course of a year, through COVID and other impactful events we were able to put together four wonderful songs. Throughout the process, Pyata was there, putting things together, even playing backing instruments and singing backup vocals. All of that, along with producing some exceptional music with so much depth and clarity that it doesn't even sound like someone's first attempt. It sounds like major recording do! Most important to me though, is Pyata's genuine concern for the quality of the production and the moral support he provided. He truly is a professional and a great human being for his passion and his sharing of his talents and knowledge. He wants you to get the best possible sound out of your work! For those seeking a true partner in their production, I can wholeheartedly say that Figure 8 Sound is the place to be. You won't be disappointed.
I have found absolute GOLD in Pyata Penedo of Figure8Sound!!! As a Classical/Flamenco guitarist and composer I am very particular about my sound and somehow Pyata understands what I want better than I do! I have never experienced this phenomenon with another engineer. Somehow he’s always a few steps ahead of me. I know Pyata grew up listening to many different genres of music and I think a big part of his genius is not only the tech part of recording but in his rhythmical knowledge. I usually have to explain Flamenco rhythm to the engineer and it’s a total hassle. Not with Pyata.. He is well versed in world music which is a rare find here in the PNW and a total godsend for me. A lot of my music has elements of Brazilian Jazz and he has been helping me FINALLY realize the sound that has been in my head all these years. He has worked not only as an engineer for me but also a collaborative musician doing sound design and different ethnic percussion tracks on my songs. He has also been very helpful to me when I run into a problem in my home studio using ProTools. I have learned SOOOO MUCH from him and look forward to many years to come!
