I was being seen at the birth center for general women's health. Though during my visits I got what I paid for, the communication at this establishment is so below average. I was supposed to receive a online cart full of supplements after a blood work visit. Basically a holistic prescription for some serious health concerns. After 10 days I emailed the office saying I didn't get the cart. I got a response saying it wasn't sent and that the midwife would be contacted to do so. Still nothing, I emailed back saying it hadn't been received, I got a response saying it had been sent and to check my spam. I immediately responded saying it was no where to be found please send again. I never heard back from the office other than a bill in the mail charging me for my last service, the one where I was promised this list of supplements, those I NEEDED to help my body heal. I never received this supplement prescription. I vowed never to go back to this facility. It was clear that because I was not a pregnant woman, that my care was not a priority. There are other places in town that will support my health as a woman way better than this office who obviously struggles with communication and being impeccable with their word. And in the coming years as I plan my first pregnancy I will not look to the Birth Center for my care. They lost a customer because of their lack of follow through and communication.

Five stars for FBWC and their midwives! I had a great experience overall with my pregnancy. The midwives are knowledgeable and spend a lot of one on one time with their clients. My birth experience was amazing and intervention free. I am so grateful for a facility that allowed me to have the birth I wanted, despite a few complications.
The fact that FBWC calls themselves holistic & women centered is laughable and an outright lie. They are a greedy capitalistic extension of the hospital and nothing else. I had 3 in person appointments with them, all of which were very impersonal, and was charged 852 after they already charged my insurance over 1000. I inquired about having a home birth and was told they “don’t support first time moms in home births” which is incredibly offensive and shows their allegiance to the western medical model. I literally left each appointment crying and feeling unheard, unsupported, and honestly abused. If you are looking for a holistic approach to your pregnancy & birth, do not go anywhere near the birth center. There are much better options in Flagstaff.
I absolutely 100% recommend this birth center. I had my first baby here and was with them throughout the pregnancy! They made me feel like a part of their \family\ and I felt so prepared for my first birth! Seriously recommend them! I look forward to being with them thru my next pregnancies in the future ️
My experience with the birth center started off with an early miscarriage in 2016. It was around the holidays, and none of the doctors in my area would see me for at least a week. It was my first pregnancy so I had no idea what to do; I called the birth center to see what they could offer and they were the only ones who offered to help and order a blood test for me. Unfortunately it didn’t end with a viable pregnancy, but I was grateful that they were able to let me know what was going on and handled it with kindness and professionalism. I also used their center when I was pregnant with my daughter - I loved the lengthy visits and one-on-one attention. I’ve never had great experiences with traditional OB/GYNs in my area. Although I ended up transferring to the hospital, it was a great experience. Now I’m on my third pregnancy and going back to them again! I’m very excited to hopefully have this baby at the center, and looking forward to the next few months. Highly recommend these ladies!
