For the most part, you get what you put in. I understand some of the frustrated reviews. I was a Lifetime member but it was just so expensive. This is a better fit for me financially. It's not as nice as Lifetime, but it's way nicer than 24 hour fitness (imho) - I shopped around before committing. COVID has really thrown a wrench in the works especially for the kid care at the Folsom location. Biggest bummer. I feel like if you are persistent and really intend to problem solve the folks will try to work to find a solution, so some things with billing have been frustrating but I don't feel like they are lacking in customer service or have ill intentions (props to the nice staff!). A contract is a contract, so I'm glad there have been some options. Working out in the tent is a nice option for cardio, and I think for the most part people are considerate of space. So... I rate this almost 5 stars and feel a little bad about it since a lot of the frustration is more COVID-related than purely deficiency in business. Miss the rock wall and kid care, looking forward to fuller reopening!

Place is great! Has what a gym needs, but I did not give it a 5 star because some of their staff needs more knowledge on working their own system. I do think this will change the more they work there. Pro tip: when signing or canceling a membership do not be shy to request their most experienced worker as it could save you a couple hundred dollars as they did for me.

Haven't been to the gym in almost 5 months because of COVID but today was a great day. California family fitness center has done a good job on separating the equipment and putting a good amount of sanitation areas around there equipment to keep clean and safe for the most part.

I would give it negative stars if possible. What went wrong is this: Our membership for 12 months ended almost 6 months ago. They proudly boasted that due to covid, they are NOT collecting any fee. However, we were charged 120 as renewal for next month. We immediately called them and told them that we do NOT want to continue membership and want a refund. They mentioned they need to talk to some manager and it will take 2-3 weeks to confirm. We called again after 2-3 months and were given some other contact number. We called almost every day for the last 6 months to get our money back but no one picked up. Finally we got through the call yesterday and when we talked to them about being charged wrongly, they mentioned that "We generally charge 1 month AFTER your membership ends, whether you use or not, since that is our policy". I mean who collects money after membership ends? We tried to tell them that covid started and gym closed, which stopped us from using any services, but nothing changed their response. Finally, after 6 months, we are out 120 for services we have not used. They did not point us to any document with this information as well. I suggest everyone NOT to go with California Family fitness. They are so fast in sucking all your money out but suck at customer service. You will waste your time and money, and good luck trying to get back money when they charge you without any reason!

First they started charging again after they said they weren't due to covid. Then I put my membership on hold until the first of the year and they are charging me 50 a month? Sorry, but this is a really poor decision. I will be cancelling for good.
