What a fantastic organization for youth ages 12-18 years. If you are looking for a K-12 after-school activity for your children, this group should undoubtedly be at the top of your list. As the Air Force Auxiliary, the Civil Air Patrol has been forging future leaders since 1948. They have an excellent Cadet Program where you can learn and participate in Aerospace Education, Character Development, STEM, and Emergency Services related activities. Moreover, all cadets have the opportunity to learn how to fly and are eligible for up to five orientation flights yearly. Throughout the year they are also able to participate in other special activities such as encampments, military ceremonies, airshows, and other military-related events which benefit them and their families. Finally, the Civil Air Patrol is a volunteer organization, so adults are also welcome to join and share their time and professional experience with everyone involved.
