We live in Fort Collins but this was our first time whitewater rafting on the Poudre. Took my sister and her 3 grown sons. Our guide was Jack and he was very friendly and knowledgeable of the rapids. One of my nephews is developmentally disabled and is chatty/asks a lot of questions. Jack was patient and super kind and took extra steps to look out for his safety. Very much appreciated. At the end of the tour on one of the last rapids we all ended up in the drink. I thought this was part of the fun and really refreshing since it was super hot...the rest of my family was rather surprised! Mountain Whitewater might want to put a little more emphasis that you can end up in the river during the safety talk. The setup at Mountain Whitewater is awesome! Great little shop with cool t-shirts and a nice bar with cheap drinks. So nice to sit in the sun with a beer and dry off after the river excitement. There was even a food truck to get more substantial food.

Great family trip on a fast river. Our guide, Spencer, was experienced and knew how to maximize the adventure without dumping the raft. Would recommend this company 100%
This was a great experience for my family and I. Of the 5 people in the group one had done whitewater rafting before. I had great anxiety all morning leading to the rafting. Once we arrived the guides gave us all the information and safety info. This gave me comfort knowing we had professional guides. Once on the river our guide Justin was straight forward and let us know what he expected from us on the ride. Justin was excellent and took us down the river and made sure we were safe. After the first class 4 rapid I had relaxed enough to enjoy the ride. Some advice for anyone doing this the first time. Stretch before you go. You will be paddling and sitting in a raft with your feet locked in to a foot guide and in the raft. If you don't paddle or workout you will be sore the next day. Which didn't matter after it was so much fun. Paddle hard and listen to the guide. It will keep you in the raft. We didn't take a swim by doing this. The whole ride down the river your guide is trying to setup the raft to avoid this. This ride down the river helped me face fears and push through the anxiety and it was worth it. Go do it.
Had a great time! Went with my sister, her boyfriend, and my dad on the whole day trip. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We saw on their website that there were wetsuits available to rent for 10 extra and thought we wouldn't need them. When we arrived though they said that since the waters were so high that we had to rent them. So be aware that you might have to rent them even if you didn't want to. We also ran into a forest fire on the second leg of the trip and had to stop early. The manager was understanding and they made it right with the price that we paid. Also, when we returned from our trip (45 minute bus ride to the first drop off, 20 minute bus ride back to the shop) we stripped out of our wet suits and other gear and were asked to clean them ourselves. They had three buckets of cleaner set up and we had to dunk everything in each bucket and then hang it up. Be prepared for that. Overall, we had a great time and this was an amazing first whitewater trip for me.
I have rafted with other companies, and Mountain Whitewater is by far the best. Our daughter has cerebral palsy as well as a service dog. We called before booking and spoke with the owner to discuss first. It was concluded that our daughter could participate safely, and they even had a dog pen on-site for her service dog to stay while we were on the water. The staff was very professional, and acted in a safe manner regarding the pandemic. Andrew was our guide, and truly made for a memorable experience. He is safe, constantly scouting out different lines down the river to balance enjoyment and safety. Overall, we had a great time, and will certainly patronize again when we visit next.
