Had a great visit to Ft Leavenworth today; paid respect to my father-in-law who is buried at the national cemetery and also had a chance to see the Buffalo Soldier Monument. Lots of history.. Great trip!!!

Peacefully stunning. If you ever get the opportunity to come here, please do! This has sentimental value to me because my grandfather was a black soldier. I could only imagine how the Buffalo Soldiers must have felt to serve during their time. The monuments have the bios of the featured soldiers. It is worth reading!
This is a beautiful place just to stop and have a peaceful moment... or a nice picnic lunch.
