Our kids have attended this camp for the past three summers and for the first time this year we all attended the 3-day family/river camp... just got home tired and with loads of laundry, but with filled hearts (and bellies)! The staff is great and our kids come home with great tales of their adventures and stories that remind me of my own summer camp experiences. As much as my wife and I would love to send our kids to the camp we attended, we can’t since it closed... Caroline Furnace is a great alternative that still brings camp spirit into our kids lives! PS... no cell service is one of the reasons we love this camp!

Our kids have attended Caroline Furnace for three years; it had been about 25 years since I had been to a camp (I did not attend CF as a child). This past summer, our family took the opportunity to attend one of the family camps. Even though the camp does a spectacular job of photo updates, and the kids came home with so many stories, it was always hard to \picture\ their life at camp. Family camp provided a different perspective of everything — the lake, the activities, the meals, and the community. The staff were all caring and fun, and the programming was just right. Thankful for this time away, and I know our kids look forward to future summers at camp! I feel confident in their safety, growth, and independence with each passing year. Thanks, CF!

While some reviewers have negatively commented that CFLC is \out in the boonies\ and has \ no cell service\, campers and retreat groups alike recognize these facts as some of the best qualities of this church camp. Fort Valley is a little slice of paradise hidden in the mountains and the cabins provide the perfect environment to reconnect to nature. The retreat house has recently been spruced up and is quaint and cozy. If you really want to get away from civilization and soak up fresh air and sunshine all while being surrounded by forest and wildlife, this is the place for you!

Caroline Furnace works hard to keep itself in the business. Business of what? Creating a space for people (young and old) to take a step in life. Sometimes, a step back, giving the chance to view what they do in the eal world.\ Sometimes a step forward, in a new leadership role. There are very few places left in our world where we can disconnect from the constant torrent of information, and given that chance most people learn that we do not have to be \plugged in\ to connect with one another. I am grateful for all the years I have spend coming to this beautiful place, and I hope if you get the chance, you or a loved one will come away too.
