Mike in the gun department is very helpful. I was looking at firearms and considered buying one, I ended up deciding to wait until I have more experience with firearms. He was very patient with me and answered all of my questions.

What a great place! Hurlburt is a smaller base than some but it still has a great BX. It's like a clean Target! But much better. Lots of great electronics. Found a good selection of modems and routers for my son's dorm room. Very helpful staff. Even a Starbucks as you enter the store. Also within walking distance of many of the dorms. Glad to know my airman has such a great facility close by without having to venture into Fort Walton for basic necessities and much more.

This particular store is, at best, a substandard version of any big-box store you’ll encounter outside the base gate. The prices aren’t discounted, but you do get the benefit of no sales tax. For everyday purchases, this probably won’t make a big difference. For substantial purchases, IF the item is in stock, maybe this is a good place to shop. One thing: they have what they have, and they likely won’t get what they don’t have. Their supply chain is dictated by AAFES HQ, and leadership doesn’t advocate for the customer (I.e. call and say “Hey, we need XYZ item”). That’s disappointing. Customers should know, shopmyexchange online and the brick and mortar are two different entities. Your online issue likely won’t get resolved by going to the store. Store employees are nice, but aren’t specially trained or given any special knowledge about the products or supply chain availability. You’ll likely know as much as they do when you come in to ask a question. I’ve addressed these issues with a manager, so only time will tell if anything improves.
