I have never before attended a \watch fire\ ceremony. For 24 hours a fire is kept burning with the public and veterans dedicating a log to some fallen family member with a short story of the life and circumstances before adding that log to the fire. It was a wonderful and respectful way to honor the fallen veterans. The Veteran's National Memorial & Museum is beautiful with monuments to all who served, including Gold Star Families and Merchant Marines. Completely volunteer and operates with only donations. Worth a visit!

They have loads of memorable. When we were there a guide walks with us and explained in depth most of the stuff. They have a local hero display to a WWI ace. Also a Tuskegee display to the best fighter squadron in the Army Air Corp. He was telling us about a Army Jeep that they just aquired at auction. Layed back an informative. Also nice grounds to walk. They were getting ready for the flag burning ceremony on Flag Day.
