After attending 3 competitions for level 1 gymnasts, representing Sokol has been a big embarrassment. We have realized how under trained and ill prepared our girls are. Currently sitting at a competition watching 6 and 7 year olds lead themselves in a warm up. This is mind blowing. Our girls, ranging from anywhere from 8 - 12 have no leader. We look completely unorganized. As the other teams warmed up on the mat, switching their warm up movenent after every round our girls just kept running in a circle about 3 times before they decided to change the movement. The coaches are too busy with the paperwork they had no clue what our girls were doing. Like every one else has said. This is a money hungry organization. They don't care about the development of their gymnasts. Communication is the worst. We had to look up other local organizations to find the competition schedule online. If you don't go in and snap a picture of the handwritten note with competition details, you're pretty much screwed. If you call and ask for details, the owner Pauline, freaks out and will take your phone number so she can text you an image of the competition notes. Thanks for that. I don't understand why Sokol enters older aged gymnasts into level 1 competitions when the competition is roughly between 5 and 9. Check out the video I posted. This is level 1A with Sokol girls on the left (the tallest girls in the room) competing with the littles. Granted this is the first time I've seen Sokol have littles competing as well. Ultimately, what this says to me is- everyone who enters gymnastics no matter what age will start at the very basic level. Twelve year old will compete with 5 year olds. This doesn't seem right to me. I can only conclude that is a another way for the gym to make more money. The more classes you take to advance, the more money for the gym.

I’m a parent of a former gymnast that went to Sokol. The gym deserve no stars , they’re not professional at all , and is poor at communicating. The owner, does not address the problems of the gym, they’re are very good at putting the gymnast down and degrade them from not knowing a certain skill. They bully the gymnast , no matter how wrong the coach is they are always on the coaches side. I do not recommend this gym to anybody.

I had both my girls doing gymnastics at sokol I just took them out. Staff at sokol are very unprofessional and very inconsiderate, no matter how much parents complain about the coach Pauline who runs the gym didnt do anything about it, she always blamed the girls, if 5 or more gymnast are complaining about the coach than something should be done about it but at sokol they looked the other way the coach put the girls down, when they cant do some of their routines she puts them on timeouts. Sometimes They dont even have a coach to coach them at all. I put alot of time and effort and money, for my girls to learn and to get better, at sokol they got worse and worse there were no coaching, sometimes other students were coaching our kids i pay for a real coach not other kids to teach my kids. The coach and owner of the gym are very degrading and very unprofessional, I will never recommend this place to anyone all.

My kids LOVE this place!! The coaches care about the kids and allow them to progress at their own pace. Class sizes are small. Tuition is reasonable. This non-profit organization is doing an incredible service for our community by offering Olympic level coaching - while they barely break even. The gym is old, but, hey - its a gym!! FIVE STARS for caring, competent coaches and an overall positive environment.
