The Fort Worth Herd Reviews | Rating 4.7 out of 5 stars (5 reviews)

The Fort Worth Herd is located in Fort Worth, United States on 131 E Exchange Ave. The Fort Worth Herd is rated 4.7 out of 5 in the category event venue in United States. The Old West comes to life before your eyes during the world's only twice-daily cattle drive presented by the Fort Worth Herd. Real Texas cowhands drive a herd of Texas longhorns down East Exchange Avenue in the Stockyards National Historic District every day at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. (check our Facebook page for updates during inclement weather). Every detail of the cattle drive—from the saddles and chaps to the boots and hats – is authentic and historically true. The Cattle Drive travels through the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards on East Exchange Avenue in front of the Livestock Exchange Building and then back to the holding pens behind the Livestock Exchange Building for viewing.

That's the must! I take everyone visiting me in Texas to this Cattle Drive. They do it twice a day almost every day. At 11:00am and 4:00 pm. Check the timing on Google. It lasts only 15 minutes, but it's really cool and worth a 30 minutes drive from Dallas. Also there are a lot of gift shops, the train station with a western ride. There are a lot of cowboys. And atmosphere is so Texan. Love it! Put your favorite hat on and go!

Worth going for a couple hours of fun. Bring cash. Parking is 7 but we got lucky and someone who was leaving gave us their ticket as we were coming in. Seeing the herd is free and a good place to view is in front of the visitor center. There are lots of shade trees and a couple misting fans. The herd goes by quick. Just a couple of minutes but it’s amazing to see the Longhorns. They are available to view in their pens behind the exchange building as well. The other touristy activities cost extra and in my opinion not worth it. 5 for a picture on a steer, 3 for the petting zoo which is almost all goats and an extra 3 for a cup of feed. Mechanical bull ride is 8, museum is 5, etc. I’m glad we checked it out. Interesting history lesson.
