Easy walk. Paved and spacious. Beautiful walk next to the river.

We did not hike the entire greenway but started by the Macon County library. Parking in the lot, proceed to the trail which is near the entrance - there is a trailhead sign. At first you will wonder if you are in the right place heading through a field on dirt tracks for the first few hundred yards. You then get to a paved trail and head left. You are hiking along the Little Tennessee River at this point on pavement and gravel. Well-maintained with a number of benches if you want to rest or reflect. There is a lovely covered bridge and a combination of woods and open areas. Mostly flat, saw many people walking (with dogs) and a couple of cyclists. Looking forward to hiking the other end of the trail. Would not recommend this trail head if you have mobility issues or after a rain as the conditions will be muddy.
