Ms Caitlin's School of Blacksmithing Reviews | Rating 5 out of 5 stars (5 reviews)

Ms Caitlin's School of Blacksmithing is located in Frederick, United States on 26 W All Saints St. Ms Caitlin's School of Blacksmithing is rated 5 out of 5 in the category art school in United States. Smithing isn’t easy. You’re working with incredibly hot metal, swinging a hammer, getting your hands dirty. Depending on the time of year, it’s a bit too hot, or a bit too cold. But along the way, you start to learn really practical things about thermodynamics, geometry, physics, math, metallurgy, history. The formulas start making sense. You start to understand how the metal moves. And then, unexpectedly, you fall in love. The piece you’ve been working on transforms. There are notes of grace in the shape that you want to explore further. Blacksmithing is the perfect intersection of sport, science, and art. It’s easy to fall in love. It’s the most fun we’ve ever had! Come play!

Caitlin explained things so well I was able to jump right in to blacksmithing. She was clear in her instructions. She always made sure you understood exactly what you needed to do next. She stressed safety and made sure you understood what to do in the event of any accident. She was very friendly and nice to talk to.

Highly recommend for anyone interested to learn the craft or just looking for a fun experience one weekend! Ms. Caitlyn does a great job teaching and encouraging you through the process. The projects you do for each visit are well thought out and make a ton of sense in learning cool techniques/tricks. You will walk away proud of what you made.

My first experience with Caitlin was great! She's extremely friendly and very welcoming. She was great at explaining each technique and had multiple methods to practice. It was amazing watching her move metal so easily. I would recommend her classes to anything wanted to give blacksmithing a try. I enjoyed my experience so much that I have already signed up for two more additional classes!
