I loved the Paul Mitchell School I went to in my hometown. I never had a bad experience there, so I was excited to learn of Temple when I moved to Fredrick a few years ago. It used to be great, but I've been disappointed with my last few visits and today's was the last straw. First issue today was they called less than 30 minutes before my appointment to ask that I come in about an hour later. I was just leaving my house and didn't have any other plans, so while it was inconvenient it wasn't a big deal. Everything started out fine when I arrived. The student who cut my hair was nice enough, but she must have used hemp products on me because my hair reeks of hemp, and I detest the smell. Students used to ask or let me know what products they planned to use so I had an opportunity to say something if I didn't want a particular product to be used on me, but that hasn't happened during my last several visits. The biggest issue today was I went in for a trim, but somehow ended up with 2-3 inches chopped off. Before cutting my hair, the student even asked if a half inch was fine. I told her a little more is okay if my ends are really bad because it had been a while since my last haircut, but I didn't expect \a little more\ to turn into 4 times more! I was seated low in the chair and was not offered a mirror after the cut was done, so I didn't see how much had actually been cut off until I got home. I was LIVID. Yes, my hair will grow back, but in the meantime I'm stuck with a haircut I am not happy with. I guess you get what you pay for. Needless to say, I won't be back.

Sad to see so many bad reviews, I personally couldn’t wait to write my positive review and experience. Faye did my root touch up and styled my hair. She was super sweet and not overly talkative... I like that, because I like to relax when I get my hair done. She was still personable though and held a conversation well when we did chat. Yes, it did take a really long time, but I never go to any salon on a tight time schedule. After all, it’s a school, you have to consider that this is a learning process for them. I’m looking forward to our next meeting, as I have already scheduled a cut and style with her in a couple weeks. Never leave there unhappy with your hair. They are there to learn and I’m sure they wouldn’t have an issue fixing whatever your unhappy with.

The absolute worst hair butchering I have ever experienced. Student hair stylist was quiet, polite and tedious in her work. She gave the best shampoo, conditioning and scalp massage. However, whatever hair guides she was following set by her learning leader left hair with only two inches long from my scalp! No wonder she couldn't style it! There was nothing left to style! Learning leader couldn't possibly have been pleased with my outcome when compared to the six photographs of the same model's hair style I presented to them prior to the first snip of the scissors. This cut would normally take 45 minutes. It took 3 and one half hours! To top it off, I received a 20 parking ticket as the meters only allow for 2 hour parking outside The Temple School. Learning leader stated at the start of my appointment it would take one and one half hours which would have been fine. But 3 and one half hours later, a humiliating hair cut and a parking ticket made for a horrible experience.

I went in to the Temple for a highlight and haircut. I showed the stylist a photo of what I wanted, and the instructor kept coming around to check on the progress which was great. However, my hair color is now two completely different shades on the top 1/4 of my hair, and the rest of my hair is the same color as when it came in. I asked for a honey blonde highlight but ended up getting an ashy greyish blonde color and it looks pretty bad. Not to mention it took 5 hours to complete when I was told it would take 3 1/2 hours. I didn’t realize this until I got home, but the instructor said it looked great. I did call to arrange either a refund or a redo, but they said they do not offer refunds, and charge 8 to fix the color. I think charging to fix a color is a little ridiculous, and I was very nice about it. I understand they are students, but I will not be coming back here after this experience.
