Pretty Monument Mary Washington. There's also the grave site for the Gordon family of Kenmore around back of Mary's monument. Too bad the 80 enslaved people the Gordon's owned don't have nice memorial there as well. Definitely take a walk down to meditation rock as well. It's a cool spot with a nice view down over Kenmore Park.

This is a nice place to visit in Fredericksburg. It's a pretty site and offers picturesque views. However, there is a lot of broken glass (from alcohol bottles) scattered all over the place, and I once saw an open condom on the ground (not sure if it was used, I didn't get close enough). This poses a safety risk for pets and people, as there is an area behind the monument that people frequently sit/climb on and can easily get cut when maneuvering the landscape. Otherwise, this is a nice historic site to visit and it's free/open to the public.
Nice place for a picnic and to learn some history. Pay your respects and take the kids( or fur babies) to the park there as well.
It's a neat monument — not a lot of on-site historical markers or anything. There's also some rock forms behind it called meditation rock that you might as well see since you're already there.
