Normally , during an outage, I receive notification by phone of when it happened and when it was restored. Nothing today, since 2pm until 22:36, not the first piece of information. It's 29degrees outside and while we have alternative heat sources, it would be nice of them to communicate if they are even aware of the problem. Not their norm, but baby it;s cold outside.

It's extremely unfortunate that we are \stuck\ with REC and cannot switch electricity providers based on our preference. I believe that is why this company is so awful to their customers- they know there's absolutely nothing the customer can do about it. One might expect a small difference in electricity every month but my average payments of 220-260 have jumped to over 400 (during an economic crisis btw!) and not even the electric advisor can tell me why. I'm extremely conscientious of my power use AND my budget so this makes no sense! When you call \customer service\ its evident that they have no intentions of helping you- they cut you off and rush to end the call. I really just wish we had even one more choice in providers- I'd leave and never look back.

I don’t understand all the negative ratings!! I have been a customer of REC’s for many years & they have ALWAYS been good to me. They are quick to restore power when it goes down In a storm, we have not had 1 issue with them in 10 years & the customer service is far better than any other company I’ve dealt with in the past. I know for sure they help their customers in their time of need. My friend was laid off when the whole COVID-19 thing began & has had a really hard time getting a FT job. owes REC about 600 & they haven’t said a negative word to her, they have been kind, patient, and understanding. Most companies were willing to let her defer or skip a payment for a month or 2 at the most. REC has been the ONLY utility company willing to keep her service on regardless of the high balance. No one else is doing this I’ve heard her make the calls, pleading for 1 more week of cell service & electricity. Thank you REC for being the type of Company that actually cares about it’s customers. I don’t know what my friend would have done without power, she has a kid!

I’ve never had billing issues or other issues with my account, but my power literally goes out every month and a half for no apparent reason (such as a storm). I’ve lost power more times in the last 2 years than any other place I’ve lived combined. Won’t miss it when I move

My power was out at my farm and the crew responded immediately to my house. My lines are buried underground and they promptly found the break. In spite of heavy equipment, they removed no trees and did no damage in my woods. They worked quickly and efficiently in the heat and humidity. They even were interrupted by copperhead snakes and got covered in ticks. My hats off to this very special crew! They were fantastic!
