Quiet little campground next to a beautiful lake.

I've managed to stay here a couple different times over the years, including some on holiday weekends. It's a fairly quiet campground for the most part with easy access to the Kokosing Lake for both swimming (in a small area) and fishing. It's best if you get a site next to the water so you can fish frequent, grill, and have late night camp fires. Had children event's a few times we were there which made a fun time for the kids. Mostly there are very little 'extra' things to do beyond enjoy your camp site. There's little to nothing to do beyond simply 'camping', so if you're looking for much extra recreational things to do it may not be your cup of tea. There's no real camp stores or places to get anything, but, luckily it's in such a close vicinity to Fredericktown that mostly anything you need is a very short drive away, anyhow. The Camp Sites are all very much wide-open, and if it's a wilderness experience you looking for, you won't get it here. It's basically a big field with camp sites cut into it, so you might be able to take advantage of simple relaxation and fishing. Restrooms are OK but Shower Houses were pretty dirty and not something I'd use regularly. All in all it's about the most basic of basic campgrounds you can stay at but if simply relaxing by lake side, enjoying evening fires, a bit of socialization, and grilling out is all you're searching for then it might be a place for you. Go here knowing and expecting what it has to offer and you will enjoy your time.

We camped for a few days. Its peaceful at night even when its a full park. I had 5 kids neighbors r very welcoming. Someone came around passing out prizes to the kids and adults. Ive camped there my hole childhood but this is the first time ive brought my own little ones. I highly recommend. We had a blast and will definitely return every summer.
