This is fun for all ages. Even when it says \steep\ it is very easy. So go ahead and take the trail They are very short hiking trails that are super easy. I think i did the larger loop and it was about 2.7 miles.

Nice off the side of the road rest stop.. offers BBQs for cooking and tables for setting up and eating,.. also found a old phone booth that actually works... Keep it clean and pack out what pack in...

They need to open back up for camping here. Great little trail selection. Open the beach trail!

I was pleasantly surprised by this park. I grew up on the island but never went to this underrated state park. I went here to escape the crowds at Ebeys and was delighted to find relative quite and solitude. The hikes were lovely and the relatively easy Discovery Trail takes you through dramatically different scenery and microclimates in a very short distance. I wanted to just sit under the cedars beside the creek forever. As of Dec 2020 the path to the beach was closed. I peaked down it to see what happened: there are several large branch trees down across it and indeed the path is quite narrow and washed away in spots. Probably best to leave it and enjoy the forest microphones for now. There were plenty of picnic tables and bbq pits being enjoyed by families even in December (probably a popular way to get it of the house during covid). The park was well maintained and there was a pay box for those without an annual pass which I happily used. I hope this hidden gem will be kept afloat.

Nice walk through the woods. Not too long or too short. Similar to other hikes through the forest in WA. Has some interesting sign posts and I loved all the trees.
