Michaels post from a few days earlier is pretty spot on. Lovely ambiance, attentive and professional service, good, but not mind blowing food, and decent, but not remarkable cocktails. The premium I expect, based on where the restaurant is. I really enjoyed the soup and gnocchi, but, no shaved truffles. so sad. It was PACKED, which was surprising ,giving covid regulations and norms. but popular joint in a ski town on a holiday weekend. I went when they opened at 1130a, on Sunday, Valentines Day, over Presidents day weekend fir perspective. i will still be back

We walked by the French Alpine Bistro chalet hut and found it to be chic and wanted to try. Upon calling to make a reservation, a credit card and 48hr cancellation policy was demanded and we were informed of a 4 course meal 150/person. Ok, still wanted to try it. Upon arrival to the restaurant we were offered either a high top downstairs or a seat in the chalet hut on the sidewalk. We opted for upstairs. The menu was a bit confusing but we got the handle of it. The fondue selection required utilizing 2 entrees which was a bit off putting. For a 4 course set, they should have a 1 person size to allow us to try multiple dishes. You’re able to choose from a variety of dishes however the first course is a small cup of chestnut soup which was very good although I’m not sure you could call this a course. It’s typically what a restaurant of this price point would include for free compliments of the house or chef. For the appetizer, we had the escargot and foie gras. Both very good!! For the main we had gnocchi and boeufbourguignon (forgive my spelling). Now here they lost a bit of points in my book, they called the pasta black truffle, false! I expected to see some black truffle shaved in front of me, not cheap truffle oil which was the case. For the dessert, we both had crepes, by this time we overate but they were good. Overall, Drinks were 3 stars (not good), Food is 5 stars, Service is very good, Price is overpriced so minus 1 star due to the price and poor cocktails. Really I am a large guy and I had a problem finishing the meal. I cannot imagine the petite women who eat here. There needs to be another option food wise here. Recommended to try but would not return at this price point or meal option.
We've come here every time we visit Aspen. Amazing food, great service, and they have this cute little chalet on the sidewalk with a nice view of the town, or you can sit downstairs in the main part of the restaurant. It's best to come during lunchtime, because for dinner, they have a prefix menu and they charge a minimum of 150 per person, even for children. This is including drink charges, even though kids don't drink. (Most likely doing a prefix menu because of COVID, since they didn't have a prefix menu in previous years).
This place is magnificent. Food and service were the best! I noticed how much attention and passion they put to the presentation and flavor. Truly this restaurant is a gem. By the way the crepes are the best crepes I have ever tried. Highly highly recommended.
