Whilst vacationing in Front Royal my family and I spent the day in a raft supplied by FRC floating 7 miles down the Shenandoah river. The company gave a well rehearsed safety speech after supplying the safety equipment. A quick trip in a short bus and we were launched, three sets of very easy rapids were encountered which were enough to break up the trip. Both dog and kid friendly, this trip gives a great insight into this part of the region. A phone call to base at the end of our trip and ten minutes later we got picked up. Well worth the money. Pleasant knowledgeable staff. Great memories

This was the perfect way to close out the summer! The tubing trip was very reasonably priced. FRO did a great job at making us feel safe in the midst of the pandemic. The folks at FRO were super kind and accommodating. I can't wait to come back next summer!

Love coming to Front Royal Outdoors every year with friends. Great price for a 3 hour ride down the river with opportunities to stop/pause to make your trip longer if you'd like. The check-in process is very easy, especially during COVID, where they handle this outdoors. Some nice conveniences: help hold your keys inside while you're floating, have changing room available, assist with finding parking upon arrival, speedy response via email. Minor things that I think could help: list the rain check policy clearly/prominently on the site. I wasn't aware that there would be a rain check offered, but only that they operate rain or shine. Because the weather was uncertain, we held out on making a reservation so we wouldn't lose our money and spots booked up while we monitored the weather. If we were aware of the rain check policy, we would have made the reservation and not lost the opportunity. There was also some confusion about cooler tube vs. cooler rafts. The check-in point of contact should double check if a raft was purchased or needed and inform tubers that they should grab that before the bus ride. Lastly, it seems that new tubes were recently purchased, and we were bummed when we realized that the new ones don't have cup holders, which was a huge convenience as well. Again, these are all minor suggestions that came up for an otherwise enjoyable experience. Overall, I highly recommend FRO and am excited to continue going year after year!

Very well run operation. Online sign-ups and confirmations were easy. There was a lot of rain the week prior, and they updated their website promptly every morning with conditions and what to expect. We arrived mid-morning on Sunday of Labor Day weekend and encountered a full parking lot of people. Yet, it only took about 10 minutes from check-in to boarding our bus. There was a bit of a mix-up with our cooler raft (partially my fault), but the bus driver handled it all on the spot. Had a nice three hour float with the family. Would definitely do it again.

We love this place. My husband and I have taken several trips and are always treated well by the staff, and they even recognize us now after a few trips (even with our masks on). We really like this place! About our trips: We did a raft trip and a canoe trip with our kids, and a canoe trip and a kayak trip with just the two of us. The shorter trip was better with the kids, but the 7 mile trip was great for us. Then we did the State Park trip (8 miles), and it was beautiful.
