From the start, when the phone was answered the guy just said hello. I had to ask if this was the taxi. He said yes and I arranged a ride from one motel to another. Instead of the 15 minutes he told me he would take to arrive, it was almost 45 minutes. When the car got here it looked like a junk-yardspecial. Then the driver said he didn't have time to deal with baggage. Common sense would dictate that the ride is from one motel to another, there may be baggage involved. Dirty car, rude driver, bad service. Three strikes, you're out. I wish they had zero stars.

We just moved to the Villages and needed a taxi in order to pick up our car which had been towed about 6 miles away. My husband called A-1 and he took a moment to recall our new address. The dispatcher hung up on him. I called back and the dispatcher rudely told me, \We are running a professional business here!\ Then, I gave him the address and he repeated the number incorrectly! So much for their professionalism. He said the taxi would be here in 20 minutes. 80 minutes later, still no cab. I did call and check; the dispatcher said \it's on the way.\ Right. We called The Villages Transportation, but they do not do taxi service so they suggested we call Lady Lake Taxi. A wonderful driver from Lady Lake Taxi showed up in precisely 15 minutes!
Absolutely terrible. I called and was told the driver was just dropping someone off 4 blocks from where I was. I waited 30 mins and tried calling back several times after that and only got their answering service. After 45 mins I started calling other services and didn't have much luck because it was on a Sunday. Thankfully I got a call back 10 minutes later from Mark's Taxi, which was supposed to be closed, and he said he would be there in 15 minutes and he was prompt. I was their for almost an hour and a half after being told by A1 that it would only be a few minutes. I've had friends that had the same problem. I will never call them again and I suggest everyone do the same.
I called for a taxi and was told it would be 15 to 20 min. 40 min later I callled to see if he was still coming and he hadn't remembered the address. I waited 30 more min. He never showed up. Made me an hour late for work because I had to call a different company. Thanks for NOTHING!!!!!!
I don’t usually leave reviews unless we’ll deserved and I believe it is. My car is in the shop and I counted on a friend to bring me home from work on The Villages on a Saturday night. We ended up having different schedules and I was stuck. After an hour searching and Uber wanting 50 bucks I called A1 taxi in Fruitland park. The gentleman called my phone right back after not answering and said he would be there in 20 mins. He certainly was there in 20 mins and what a pleasant respectful man. They don’t typically run at night but said he was happy to help me out. The ride was quick to Leesburg and pleasant. I am very thankful to (Bill, I think his name was)as he helped me out greatly. Recommend this Taxi for sure.
