First off let me say that I called Kennedy Bros Towing for a job, but I think they subbed it out to Green Locksmith and Tow. I scheduled to have 2 tow trucks show up at a location in Santa Fe Springs to pick up 2 20' machines at 10AM a week in advance. The day of the job, I told them that the crew was behind schedule and we need to move the time to 11AM. Well it was a good thing I called, because they had me on the schedule for 5PM. A single tow truck showed up at 11AM and drove right past us in the parking lot moving the machines to be towed. Then he parked by the front door and sat there. I thought he was calling someone and would come to the back when he was finished. Well, he was calling me, but my phone was in my car because I didn't want to move these heavy machines with a phone in my pocket. So after 20 minutes, he left. Instead of getting out of his truck and asking anyone \did you call for a tow truck\ he just left. So I called them and they said they would send out another truck. So finally another driver got there at 2PM. Well now I'm worried, because its only 1 truck and we are getting close to rush hour. So we are loading up the machine...and it does not fit on the truck. I specifically asked if the bed could hold a 20' machine and they said yes. Well, it was a good thing that the machine had multiple supports under the machine, because the machine was hanging off the back of the truck bed by 4'. They had no idea what kind of machine I had to move, and it could have been a disaster. The machines were moved with only minor damage and the driver was very good at what he did. However, it cost me twice as much as quoted because it was one truck going back and forth. So it was 1 truck on the clock for 4.5 hours vs 2 trucks on the clock for 1 hour. So I am giving the company 2 stars for lack of communication, lack of understanding what equipment needs to be moved and a misquote of 500 instead of the 1,000 it actually cost.
Kennedy Bros Towing rescued my wife with a flat tire. Speedy service and actually decent rates. Definitely saved their number on my phone!
