Absolutely stunning beautiful state park. It’s free during the peak season (winter), but I wouldn’t mind paying few bucks to come to this beautiful park. Kids love the trails and the lake is so welcoming and relaxing. Great outdoor place for families and it’s almost never too crowded!

The park has a great hiking trail of just under 4 miles around the lake. It is also a popular destination for flatwater kayaking. We saw lots of trees with beaver marks. Some trees were cut in half by these amazing natural architects and builders.

For The Best Time Ever you must come here in December during the Lights Festival. This is a great Park which has all you can expect from a Park which is water, fish, grass, horses and flies everywhere except the horses part everything is true. great place to hang out or do a picnic and there are also dedicated picnic areas for doing birthday party if you want to do something other than chuck e cheese. !!!! There is a tips to avoid long waiting !!!! Drive through illumination. It’s very very popular, even though you are going to weekdays with online ticket, you will wait more than hours for entrees. The park may open earlier than 6 pm, in order not to bother the town due to heavy traffic. I suggest you to arrive 4:30-5:00pm. When I went the festival, the park opened 5:15 pm. We enjoyed without stressful waiting. Leaving from the park at 6:00pm, and saw terrible heavy traffic line out of park. I hope you enjoy!!!

Very serene, but was crowded. You can still socially distance yourself. My kid loved seeing fishes in the water.
