I have worked for this outfitter every summer since 2016. Julie & Jamie, which are the on-site managers have done a fantastic job at maintaining & running this facility with little help. The relationships that I have built with the regular customers will last me a lifetime. I am truly blessed to have been able to learn & grow with this company over the years. Unfortunately, I had to make a hard decision last night & quit the job that I loved due to some uncalled events. So I guess my review is that, the outfitter itself is a great place... the owners do not know what they’re doing & quite honestly should not own it. Thank you for all the memories , James River Outfitters.

Had a really great time. Went on the 5mile float. We went with another group, we rented a canoe but got to use a kayak halfway through. Trust me a kayak is waaaaay nicer. Beautiful scenery as you paddle down the James River and several spots to stop off and go for a swim.

My girlfriend and I went down to do the haunted float. I can't believe it has taken this long for someone to do a Halloween event on a river. Anyway, Julie was running the show and it was awesome! The props that you see throughout are custom made, very creative and impressive. The volunteers working were all very enthusiastic and having fun with it. We had a great time and will go again. It is family friendly and a great setting. So if you want to \social distance\ from folks on Halloween this is the place to go. I highly recommend the 30 min drive from Springfield. You will thank me.

JRO is a great place for a day on the river. It’s not fancy but the people are nice and the equipment is good. This section of the James River is a nice easy float with great places to stop and swim and have lunch etc. Lots of turtles, birds including great blue Heron and lots of fish to see! We fed the fish some leftover bread and they were all over for great videos! Brian was very nice and did a great job getting us set up with our canoe and gear. Thx JRO!

Great place with friendly staff. The campgrounds was very clean an well kept. It was nice an relaxing an very family friendly. The float was amazing an very beautiful scenery. Highly recommend!!!!
