Look out the window from your bed and watch our horses drift off to sleep in the 60' x 160' indoor arena. Wandering petting zoo with horses, goats, dogs, a mini pig, a baby mini pig, a mini horse, guinea pigs, ducks, and chickens free for farm stay guests. Horseback riding and guided petting zoo available for additional fee to guests and visitors. We specialize in kids and beginner riders. Your children will burn up all their energy here - so many things to do.

My girlfriend and I stayed there April 23rd for the night in the 3 bedroom apartment they have available, it was very clean, it felt very personal to Roger as he was very excited to give us the tour and show us the 3 rooms that were decorated around a certain theme for each room. The admiral room is perfect for a couple and the other 2 rooms are more for kids, one has a telescope that you can use and look out at the river and you are right next to the horses so you can see them. Roger and his wife, Sabina were very friendly and always wanted to have a conversation about you and get to know you. The dogs were so friendly, they also had a pig that I can’t remember her name, so I called her porky, she was very friendly and eager to be around people. Nala the dachshund loved coming up to our room to play with us. If you ever feel like there isn’t enough to do out there, think again, it’s a beautiful property with the friendliest hosts. We will definitely be back soon, thank you Roger and Sabina. -Adam

I took my wife and my two kids to Galena for a long weekend to start the new year. I found the Riverview Ranch online and made a call to reserve a time with the ranch owner Roger. It was a awesome experience my family and I had a lots of fun. My kids got to ride horses and they loved it, we also got to pet a little pig and two friendly goats. if you are in galena you should check out the Riverview ranch Roger and his wife are great!

Absolutely wonderful experience, my 5 year old got the "unicorn" ride and she loved it! Riverview isn't about getting as many paying customers on a trail ride as possible - they cater to young children and teaching them how to appreciate a horse while still having fun. They have indoor and outdoor arenas, so Roger will make sure you have a great time in any weather. Don't forget to ask for the baby pig experience - both you and your kids will love it! Riverview Ranch is a hidden gem in Galena. Make sure you stop in!

We loved this place. It's a ways into the wilderness and about 10 miles out of Galena, but if you're looking for a quiet rugged place, you should try this ranch. It's old but clean. We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment. It came with all the accoutrements, fully stocked kitchen, 2 bathrooms also fully stocked. A charcoal and gas grill for cooking dinner. But the best thing about the ranch is the peace and quiet.

We had a great time! Roger and his wife were gracious hosts and really helped our daughters with horse back riding. I highly recommend spending an afternoon if your kids like to ride.

We booked a last-second long weekend in Galena Territory and had the best experience taking the kids (8 & 11) for their first riding lesson here. Roger and Sabina made everything easy and comfortable so the kids could really enjoy their time on the horses. I was so happy and relieved that this was how my kids were introduced to horses: in a safe, encouraging, and controlled environment with individual attention from the owners. We can't wait for our next visit! My daughter has already re-named half of her toys after the horse she rode at Riverview. :)

The absolute best experience for servicing the needs of everyone in my family. My children that never rode on a horse before were treated so kindly by the owners, Roger and Sabina. They were so patient, accommodating, and kind. My 9 year old was in tears from the fear of the horses, and by the end we couldn’t get her off! My more experienced older daughter was given freedom to roam around their beautiful property. We left there so happy this was the ranch we were at!

We took our kids (2&5) for a horse riding experience while we were in town and it exceeded every expectation! Roger and Sabina were both amazing with the kids - patient, gentle and encouraging. They also let the kids play with their dogs, a new kitten and a 3wk old baby pig. They could not have been more kid friendly, so if you want to give your city kids a ranch experience this is the place! We will definitely return on our next visit to Galena.
