Outdoor services
My friend and I went to this shop for our first experience outdoor rock climbing. We did a day with a private guide, Eric. He was absolutely wonderful - so professional, made us feel incredibly comfortable on the rocks! I would never have dared climb so high my first time without his calm, knowledgeable, non-judgmental, and trustworthy demeanor. I was also very impressed with the way they followed covid 19 precautions - I felt safe and germ free at all times! I can’t wait to go back!

Perfectly located to pick up last minute gear you may have forgotten at home. And tremendously helpful guides, with a deep feeling of the area.
My friend and I did a took private rock climbing course with Eric and it was such a blast. We were scared at times but Eric was extremely knowledgeable and put us at ease. I can’t emphasize enough how accomplished it felt to get to the top. We would love to come back, especially in the fall to see the foliage.
I traveled all the way from Ohio to ice climb in the Catskills of N.Y. it wasn't for train for any big climbs but just something I wanted to do on my bucket list. Our guide was Matt Carter. Very knowledgeable and kind. He had to be very patient to deal with me. I would totally recommend Matt! Good times
The shop is very tiny (about 100 square feet), but the climbing instruction is excellent. There is no classroom work here - everything is done on the rock, ice, or snow. The guides are superb - friendly, patient, and well qualified. (Yes, you should tip them. They are responsible for your safety and risk their lives to set ropes.) There are numerous rock climbing routes for all skill levels just a few minutes from the school. Some ice-climbing sites are about an hour ride from the school. The classes include rental of technical equipment. The little bistro next door is great for breakfast and lunch. Try the German restaurant across the street for dinner.
