Beautiful, charming event venue! This is the place for a turnkey, rustic-chic wedding. The view overlooking the pond at sunset is the perfect backdrop for your ceremony! The owner / event coordinator did an excellent job on our wedding. She was well organized, very responsive, and was attentive to detail. My only recommendation is to use your own DJ if possible. Although their preferred / house DJ was very nice, he was not what I would consider professional or experienced. He came to the event underdressed (in a t-shirt and basketball shorts), did not take the time to learn how to properly pronounce our name, nor preview his music downloads before playing. We had a very specific type of music and very thought out playlist. The DJ ended up playing “techno” versions of what was supposed to be calming dinner music. I had to tell him to stop and change it in the middle of songs. He also did not queue up the correct songs for the milestone moments, like the cake cutting. There were also non-love songs added to the mix (ie. songs about lovers leaving people?) when more than enough material was provided so that additions were not necessary. We paid a great deal of money on this experience for it to have gone this way. I would have given the venue 5-stars if it wasn’t for him.

We attended a wedding at the ranch this past weekend. The decorations, the atmosphere, the accommodations and the staff just make this place so special. George West Texas has a destination hot spot with the Katzfey Ranch! Thank you Dee & Mark for such a fabulous event! This place is top notch!
Went on a father son hunt with friends and their boys. Mark and his family are very gracious. Cabins are clean and comfortable. Dove hunts were limits each time. Always a different field. Prepared dinners each night were well deserved. The lodge is posted on top of a hill. The views and sunsets are awesome. We will be back
